Don't say that. Many times I saw them cut too many routes because the word from above would only allow them a certain number of routes. Which always ended in a ton of service failures but they would still do it again. No way the center manager was going to stand up to his bosses. They are just paid to be glorified yes men now.
Every now and then a real partner rises above the sludge we call local management.

We currently have one as our center manager. He will act like he only has so many cars in the plan in the am conf call when he puts in one or two more.

He will then let us know this at the PCM and ask is not to dick him over because we're the ones that'll be out till 10pm when he is forced to follow the plan.

We almost always have hit the mark.

When our center wide paid day comes in below their expectations he/we win and continue putting on more routes than planned.

He also is known to ask the dispatcher 10mins before start time wether or not we hit stops be car. If there is room he has no problem handing someone a list of phone numbers of drivers who are heavy and sending them out in an empty PC to grab 10-15 resi stops off each. Again lowering the paid day of the center and allowin him to dispatch as he pleases.

If only there were more partners
