The roadside rests in Texas don't even have toilets. All they are is a little place beside the road with a picnic table and maybe a shelter. They call them pocket parks.

Hmm. That middle picture reminds me of my route, minus the mountains. There is a country gas station in the middle of my route that has a bathroom. It is like an oasis. They've been having problems with their septic field so they brought in two porta-potties. I tried twice to use them but just couldn't do it. I turned around and walked out. Scary sights inside those things. Lol.
