In reality, at least on the road, if you have a California plate you are waved thru....they don't even ask about the fruit. And it's way far from the Nevada border....almost at Barstow. I guess they don't care about the desolate area before Barstow .We usually have the remains of our complimentary fruit basket from Vegas.

I sure wouldn't want those people checking borders and such.
