Despite all kids being naturally competitive with a desire to win.

When Joeboopup was in Cub Scouts, his pack had a pinewood derby. All the cubs got a "participation trophy." They also had trophies for first, second, third. His car came in second and he was so proud of that trophy. The other trophy ended up somewhere.

One of the parents I know helped his son cheat. He works in a machine shop. He made the nails and wheels as smooth as possible. Really????

Nope. He did it himself. In fact, I put the wheels on wrong and the cub master had to fix them.
