He can't, unless his mom is a citizen,you have to be a naturalized American citizen. They Said the same thing when all the hoopla about Arnold when he became Governor of California, and when Jennifer Granholm was an up-and-coming democratic star ( she was born in Canada also).

They were stopped in their tracks because if I recall correctly, they CAN be Vice President IF ONE of their parents is an American Citizen.

Nope. You have to be a natural born citizen. Naturalized is someone who originally wasn't but became a US citizen. Cruz definitely is naturalized. The argument is whether he is natural born.

The confusion about natural born is the requirements aren't specifically stated in the Constitution so it is a gray area the court has never clarified. Most experts agree Cruz qualifies but that don't stop the mud slinging from people who don't like him.
