cap'n crunch
I told a story last week about my wife taking her car to get an oil change and to address a recall item. she dropped her car off and I picked her up and we went to breakfast. She told me the service guy asked her could he change her air filter if it needed it. she said ok. Well, GM recommends that filter be changed @ 50,000 miles. Her car has 17,000 miles on it. I had a fit. she immediately called and said she didn't need a filter replacement. Keep in mind, they had only had the car like 15 minutes. They told her it had already been done and her car was almost ready. They called a little over 2 hours later to say her car was done. I was pist. She picked it up, and a free oil change cost me $57.57 for an air filter that we didn't need. I didn't go in when we picked the car up because I have a temper and I know I would have caused a scene. I tried to call the service manager about 10 times over 2 days. He never answered his phone, and I did not leave him a message. I called and wrote their corporate offices and used the magic words "fraud" and "BBB". Got a call back the next day from corporate and said to swing by and pick up a check for the whole amount. On top of that, they didn't even look at her recall item. I hate car dealerships.

A call to the BBB does get their attention.
