No question about that. The inside equivalent of "runner-gunners." Their ass-kissery and corner-cutting will catch up to them, and when they really need a favor from management, they won't be there to help. Let them dig their own graves.
They just get disability approved and fmla and then the older employee who's dog dies gets written up when the steward only comes in once a week for bennies gets away clean and won't stand up for anyone

the problem is people are scared cause our leadership only cares about older guys not us young guys

I might draw some fire for saying this again, but oh well: If that kind of thing is going on, RTW might just be what your area needs. Although I'm opposed to it, that might be enough to get your local's act together and stand for everyone, equally, instead of just the people who pay the most in dues. If people don't feel like the union is protecting them, they'll stop giving the union money given the chance. I think it would be wiser for the local to earn younger members' respect early on, not when they're fighting for their life. But they're in control of that, not me.

But if you can prove that your local gave someone who's been there longer better representation than a newer member (in a similar situation), I'd file NLRB charges in a heartbeat.

Rtw is :censored2: I feel like I need to goto a union meeting/talk to my bad about how my steward doesn't care about us that wanna stay and older guys and that I will look out for them I can make it happen. It's convincing the people that are in a management that we can all have it good without being afraid of harassment

It's just hard to get people to stand together for some reason I understand how mlk felt about I have a dream I can visualize us getting treated right it's just the challenge of getting us to all work together and not be afraid. The union is at its best when we look out for each other and aren't being selfish that's why our pension is :censored2:ed greed

Keep leading by example. I just remembered that I won someone over a few weeks ago. I told him about his rights, who he needed to talk to if he had a problem. UPS pushed him over the edge. Guy that's been here longer than I have filed his first grievance because I nudged him in the right direction.

They are afraid to tell mgmt off or grieve their garinteed hours for retaliation I don't get it the worst that can happen is they over supervise and tell you go faster and you say you're working safely as long as everything happens on time it's not my fault if cars are late get your hours if they got a problem I'll stand up for you if no one will. I just more people would read the contract and try to have others play by it and make everyone's life better
