actually, we don't usually have summer helpers. This is only the second year since I've worked there that it's been heavy enough to send out preloaders as helpers.

Most areas of the country,dont allow the pratice of using summer helpers.

It is against the contract but nobody is complaining because there just simply isn't enough drivers and not enough routes to get stuff delivered on time. They need to hire more drivers....but they won't.

Lol exactly! they're at the point where they'd rather pay grievances then follow the contract and send 9.5 drivers out with 9.5 loads. and I'm loving the extra OT money.

it's insane. The amount of traffic all day yesterday heading out east..... I almost got hit by a car 3 times just tryin to cross the street to deliver a package....while the driver is literally parked up the curb on the sidewalk because the streets are so narrow. Did you not see me in my bright yellow safety vest??? Lol
