In my opinion, we're screwed...
If this insurance mandate is so good, why does the president and democrats have to "sell" it now that it is law?
Shouldn't the president and democrats move on to more important concerns, like job stimulus, immigration reform, the conflicts in the middle east and deficit reduction?
Anyone who as read the law, the amendments and the CBO "preliminary" report (that the democrats are touting as fact) you'll see that, at least, 3 million people will loose employer provided coverage.
You'll also figure out that the way this laws "reduces" deficits is by raising taxes and cutting funding from existing Medicare and Medicaid programs - the same programs that most "underprivileged" people will be forced into, should they not be able to "afford" to pay for their own insurance.
The kicker is another way they plan to "pay" for this program is through billions of dollars "fees" imposed upon those who can not or do not buy the federally mandated insurance policies.
In addition to higher taxes, why would the law rely on nearly $70 billion dollars in "penalties" to help pay for it?
Again, I have to ask, if this law is so good, why must they sell it to the public?
You want Facts? We're screwed!
Remember what Pelosi said?
