last great americans were people protesting in 1960s and 70s. then before that great depression protestors.
Those would be the boomers that have left the world in much worse shape than they were given it. They’ve destroyed the environment and any hope of upward mobility for most Americans. They’ve hoarded wealth and saddled their descendants with massive unpaid debt. At least they can make change at an old timey cash register though.

yea its just a moment of greatness, doesnt mean a whole generation was great.

racists always crack me up as if they think some race is acceptable while another is not. there is no race which is even adequate, humans are mediocre across the board.

That hoarded wealth will be passed on to the next generation. In the meantime providing service to all those wealthy boomers is giving you a job. And a lot of boomers are much less wealthy than you are.

You want a toe? I can get you a toe.
I read the article, it sounds like they are trying to protect the privacy of other people's children (why should you be privy to a conversation that someone else's child has with the teacher?) which I hadn't really thought about but it does make sense. Having said that it doesn't seem practical or enforceable.
The technology doesn’t exist to have that conversation privately?

no it means 10 million is exempt from taxation which wasnt exempt before :S
No it means it's exempt from the estate tax. It's already been taxed through income tax. Which is why it's hated by those who have substantial amounts of money. They increased the amount exempted because the lower amounts taxed were forcing heirs to sell the family business or farm in order to pay the estate tax. A lot of people have equity in their business or farm but are cash poor. They may get by fine but don't have enough cash lying around to pay a million dollars or more in estate tax.

Or you could die like George steinbrenner did and paid nothing because there was no tax law at the time

Those rich people already pay the bulk of income taxes. The poorest 50% actually pay very little in taxes and the programs they depend upon are paid for by those wealthy you despise. Yes some are fortunate to have been born into a wealthy family but why envy them? It's been proven over and over that the very wealthy aren't any happier than average people. They just have more money.
