Who says the president controls the price of gas? But his policies can certainly influence the price. Under Trump the U.S. became a net exporter of oil. And Trump filled up the strategic reserve. Try as you might you can't deny that we had much lower energy prices under Trump. Or were you filling up your car while thinking you didn't care what the pump says, doesn't matter who the president is, he has no control over prices?
Under trump the country was in a National lock down to try and control a pandemic that trump did not believe in. Oil prices went into negative territory and the oil companies shut down rigs. We are now coming out of the trump recession and higher oil prices are the result. Sorry if you don't like our free market system. Maybe move to Cuba.

Uninformed much? Oil prices went into negative territory because of a dispute between Russia and Saudi Arabia with the Saudis flooding the market with oil. But that was in the year of the pandemic, not all four years, which saw much lower gas prices than under Obama. And your vaunted Dr. Fauci was in charge of the pandemic under Trump, whose administration was responsible for getting the vaccines developed in record time. Try as you might you can't deny gas prices depend entirely on supply and demand. Trump wasn't the reason prices were much lower for gas a couple of years ago. Remember that cold/flu thing that started in 2019...?
