Exactly. It's as if he thinks we'll all run out and build a power grid powered by solar panels and windmills to replace the current system because gas prices are too high. What is more likely to happen, and soon, is the collapse of a lot of businesses because people can't afford to drive to them or buy anything from them. Literally going to have to sit at home and make a grocery run once or twice a month. I usually put in around 12 gallons when I fill up. I can't afford to pay $120 to do that. Bad enough now at $50+.

There will be no price relief upon transition, and no incentive for renewables to bring costs down. Terrible economics. The real hope is that through this pain, people will finally realize what's going on and we can return to rational policy making that is balanced and anchored to reality.

Yes, they are expensive, the only way to enable widespread adoption of EV's is to make it too expensive to run and maintain an ICE vehicle. I don't know that Musk is helping to direct things, or just taking advantage of the situation, but the pro-freedom kick he's on right now has seemed like a giant smoke screen to me, a little too good to be true.
