“I just fired the head of the FBI. He was crazy, a real nut job,” President Trump said in a meeting with Russian officials last week, according to the Times report on a document summarizing the meeting.
I could see Trump saying this ... I hope he always speaks his mind.

His mouth gets him in a lot of trouble. A lot of what he says can be taken out of context.
Actually this appears to have come right from a White house document summarizing the meeting:
The White House document that contained Mr. Trump’s comments was based on notes taken from inside the Oval Office and has been circulated as the official account of the meeting. One official read quotations to The Times, and a second official confirmed the broad outlines of the discussion.

I found within the article linked by Jones that Yahoo! took another sentence (out of context) by Trump and added it at the end of the sentence I quoted.
Typical EDITORIAL manipulation of a story. It's the editor many times rather than the reporter.

As I said earlier, I can see Trump making this statement and there is nothing illegal about it.

In a statement, he said that Mr. Comey had put unnecessary pressure on the president’s ability to conduct diplomacy with Russia on matters such as Syria, Ukraine and the Islamic State.

Was he at the meeting? Maybe he doesn't know exactly what was said.
He certainly didn't confirm it.

His quote was not the same as the headline.
“By grandstanding and politicizing the investigation into Russia’s actions, James Comey created unnecessary pressure on our ability to engage and negotiate with Russia,” Spicer said in a statement to the press.
Very different meanings.

I agree that was said in the article but keep in mind, this Yahoo article was put together by an editor from various sources. The wording and structure of this article doesn't feel right either ... maybe deception? (Note: that deduction could be caused by my bias against MSM)

Yahoo has always been liberal but taken a turn even farther to the left recently. Marissa Mayer destroyed what once was a very good company. Her only qualifications had been sleeping with the right people at Google. She has her Golden Parachute so doesn't care.
