What do you mean she was on Obamacare? It's not an insurance plan. When people talk like this I don't believe they have any understanding of what the law actually is.
its a mandate that defines the insurance plans.

He was just being a jerk to the other guy.its a mandate that defines the insurance plans.

That's the point, she stopped getting it150 bucks. Lol.
What did she expect?
Should have just paid the penalty. Anyone who has ever paid for health insurance before would know 150 bucks wouldn't get you anything worth a damn.
have you actually talked or seen someone try and use it or seen that most markets have one insurer. Obamacare is imploding. It is a question now of when full meltdown happens. It directly hurts middle class people and those right above the income line.It doesn't sound like you have much experience with the individual health insurance market. Saying doctors barely take the insurance she bought is not a real thing. Either a doctor is in the insurance network or they aren't, it's incumbent on you to determine the doctors in the network you choose. That's information easily available on the exchange, another big improvement over pre ACA days.
Yes, I use the exchanges. I've been in the individual health insurance market for my entire adult life. It is much better with the ACA. The costs haven't been controlled but the yearly increases are less than they were before the law. For a stretch there in the early 2000's my premiums would double annually. It is not imploding. There are markets with a single insurer because they get a monopoly and can dictate price with the federal government subsidizing the premiums so people can buy it and the insurers can make a profit.have you actually talked or seen someone try and use it or seen that most markets have one insurer. Insurance companies are not going to keep taking a loss. Far too many sick people signed up and not enough healthy people. It is why insurance companies pulled out. A lot of people opted for the penalty. The people who made out are the people on expanded medicare. The people who have pre existing conditions are going bankrupt on obamacare and before obamacare. They can't afford the deductible.Yes, I use the exchanges. I've been in the individual health insurance market for my entire adult life. It is much better with the ACA. the system was set up so there wasn't supposed to be a monopolyYes, I use the exchanges. I've been in the individual health insurance market for my entire adult life. It is much better with the ACA. Insurance companies are not losing money. That is just not true. They know what care costs and with the subsidies they can set the price high enough to make money. Medical bankruptcies have declined under the ACA. It has problems but I haven't heard any good solutions. I assume you've always gotten coverage through UPS and don't really understand the individual market and how bad it was before the ACA.Insurance companies are not going to keep taking a loss. I expect Obama to be speaking at an insurance convention for big bucks any day now. But the flaw is most insurers have thrown in the towel because the preexisting conditions mandate is killing them.interesting how you defend it. I too have been in health insurance my entire life. At this point I pay 300 bucks a month for me and the wife. I suppose UPS is also paying the one and only insurance provider at least that much for my plan? Most if not all of my yearly medical expenses are paid by me through my deductible . Thus everything paid to the insurance company by me is profit for them. But if my 50 some year old ass should get pregnant I am covered thanks to the ACA . if I should develop a drug addiction I will I suppose be covered. Not options I have any interest in pursuing.
in the old days ups had multiple insurance provider options per state. now I have one.
In the old days you could have your ups plan and your wife could also have her work related insurance plan and be covered under your plan. that is gone. Having that primary and secondary insurance plan when we had kids was a huge help when we were counting every dollar. Cant imagine paying 80 percent of those bills now under those conditions My doctor likes to see everyone in the family every three months. I'll spread it out to six months now and save a few bucks of deductable. That counters the philosophy of past insurance plans that forced peventitive visits and tests on us.
I for the life of me cant understand how you could ever try to sugarcoat what the ACA has done to destroy our insurance plans. I can't understand how you can not see that insurance companies are using the ACA to increase their profitability.

I honestly don't care if employer provided coverage has gotten worse and from the sound of it yours is still excellent. $300/month for 2 people in their 50s is crazy cheap. You haven't been in the individual market, it is worlds different from employer provided plans. I don't think insurance should be tied to employers, it gives employers too much leverage over their employees. Employees can't leave without risking their health. Covering the cost of health care puts American companies at a competitive distvantage to the rest of the developed world. It's a terrible system top to bottom, but pretending the system we had pre-ACA was better is just idiotic. If you didn't disclose you went to a dermatologist for acne when you were a teenager you would get your coverage revoked when you got cancer in your 40s. Ya let's go back to that.interesting how you defend it. I too have been in health insurance my entire life. At this point I pay 300 bucks a month for me and the wife. It says "operating revenues." That's not profit, but money taken in to cover all expenses. And of course it's record breaking revenue as they've had to increase premiums in order for them to cover all expenses and still turn a profit. And yes, the CEO's are doing well. But reduce their pay to nothing and you still couldn't cover the losses. And if so profitable then why are insurers dropping out all over the country? The ACA was designed with a goal in mind, to force private insurers out of the market, leaving the gov't as the single payer, thus controlling healthcare. As for the mention that your $300 a month is crazy cheap, he should keep in mind most people find it difficult enough paying for rent, or mortgage, plus car payment, utilities, groceries, childcare, etc without throwing in a $600 or more monthly insurance bill.I don't think its killing them. I do think It may be hampering what has otherwise been a lucrative business. if you want to buy a house or car you go to a bank. if you want to finance the purchase of a shopping mall you go to an insurance company.
Health insurance industry rakes in billions while blaming Obamacare for losses

You know, Google can help you with the big words, then maybe you won't feel so inferior.I enjoy the exchange of opinions I do not enjoy the exchange of arrogance as this writer portrays as if he somehow has developed some superior insight that has escaped the rest of us. when an article starts as below I stop reading. I have no tolerance for such self serving arrogance.
