I had no expectations of him really.
I figured he would be like Jammy who tried to change the entrenched powers ... ineffective.
Maybe a new Reagonest figure will emerge to replace him.
Or Pence.

I had expectations of him and he has proven every one of them correct. I would think the people who voted for him would do some soul searching, but I am sure they are fine with him calling self identified racists fine people. Again, I am not labeling these people racists. This is the identity they picked for themselves. And then one of them killed someone and injured many other people. I don't understand how anyone can be ok with Trump saying they are fine people and not be racist themselves.

Trump called self identified racists fine people. If you are an American who isn't a racist and who thinks racism and racists are not fine people, how are they supposed to react to the president? I thought we agreed hey being a racist is a bad character flaw, now we have the president saying nah you can be a racist and the president may consider you to be a fine person.

How can a person seriously be ok with that characterization by the president of self identified racists and not be racist themselves?

I am not as optimistic that his enemies will let him do it.

There's a difference between erasing history and celebrating traitors. Why do we still have celebratory memorials to leaders of the confederacy? They fought a war against the United States and lost, they aren't heroes.

I'm all for dead people staying in cemeteries.
The best place for a statue of someone who fought against constitutional rights for black people may not be in front of a court house though. Just a thought.
