if you're talking about the unemployment numbers longer then a day. each state has to report their payroll numbers . processed started Monday for some states while still in August. The day of reporting will affect that months results but the actual will show next month when the adjustment goes in. If you're high fiving a 30,000 job miss on a workforce of 160 million on a quick turnaround reporting month then chances are good you will be unhappy next month that the misery to the august worker did not materialize.

So you hold onto the idea that the numbers reported can't possibly be correct and every major news outlet reporting them just doesn't know what they are talking about because they can't possibly have the numbers yet?

I think anyone who has even the smallest amount of intelligence would understand that the employment numbers often adjust up and down every month because the first number out is not accurate. I apologize for over estimating you ability to understand such simple logic.

Yes. The adjust up and down. They also come out almost immediately. Like on the last day of the month.
So we agree that the numbers that came out did in fact come out and that the numbers are subject to change in the coming days and weeks (just like they always have).
