Self sacrifice has selfish motives as well. Jesus sacrificed himself to see our sins forgiven, if you believe in that. He wanted the sins forgiven, he sacrificed himself to see that. He had a desire in doing so, not true altruism.

I think human beings are selfish and ego driven. They will always have some form interest in their actions or gain. Not just humans but really any animal.

People are well aware of this and still take loans. They agree to the terms.
