1876 - After selling horseradish, pickles and sauerkraut, Henry John Heinz launches Heinz Tomato Ketchup in Sharpsburg,PA.

1937 - Heinz is profitable enough to start breeding its own tomatoes.

1948 - A rival emerges. Brothers, Joseph & Wiliam Hunt, known for their tomato sauce, see sales spike for Hunt's Tomato Catchup.

1969 - Breakfast of champions? Richard Nixon says he likes to start his day with cottage cheese and ketchup.

1981 - Ketchup gets political: The Reagan administration proposes classifying ketchup as a vegetable on the federal school lunch program - sorry kids, it is not approved.

1983 - Squeeze bottles debut in grocery stores; ketchup fans wonder what took so long.

1991 - A condiment rivalry heat up: Salsa outsells ketchup by $40 million in retail stores, causing a national identity crisis.

1993 - Heinz fights back with salsa ketchup, but discontinues it a few years later.

2013 - After Heinz hires a former Burger King executive, McDonald's drops Heinz in favor of its own "fancy ketchup" (fom food processor Golden State foods, which also makes the Big Mac's special sauce.)

So what is Sriracha ketchup? I saw it at the store the other day. I suppose I could Google it but I don't have the energy.

You can buy it for $2.48 at Wal-Mart.

I like the Jalapeno blend better.

Thanks---- I think I will pass. I like spicy stuff but there is already enough hot sauces and spicy salsa and stuff like that out there. (I hate Walmart)
