Anyone ever hired full time after a seasonal period ended? I'm contemplating moving out of State for a shot, but it sounds like being converted to full time after season rarely happens. Just curious to see if anyone has been through this. Thanks!
I was hired FT 5 months after being a peak feeder but only because they fired 2 drivers. But at the time it was at a satelite feeder only hub.
I heard they tell a lot of peak hires they do but that's not how UPS works in most hubs. Feeder is selected through the bid process. Package drivers can sign a bid sheet for a job and then be feeder trained.
If no package drivers sign the list then part timers from the hub can. Some hubs hire feeder off the street but it depends on the hub. Your best bet is to speak to the HR department and your local union office.
You could also post your area here and maybe a upser from this area can post the hiring policies for this hub.

At my building PT are not allowed to bid into Feeder jobs. Must have one year safe driving in the package car driver classification. I will bet 22.4 does not count as they are not real package car drivers. Just like PT or FT air drivers are not qualified to bid into Feeder jobs.

I would be working out of Manchester, NH. I was told they are needing 20 seasonal feeder drivers and are even having a job fair next week to try and accomplish this. My recruiter says being hired on after peak does happen, but not typical.

It happens but, Its all depending on the area you are working. There are areas where they might hire one seasonal every five years. Then they are areas where they keep ten guys per year. No one here has that answer For you. I would not be holding your breath hoping to be hired permanent.

Just go for it ..... sleeper team operations are growing like crazy maybe after peak if they don’t decide to keep you in a brown tractor you can get team gig ( if your interested in such ) which is more money right off the bat. Stick out teams for a year or 2 until you can get a bid in a brown. It’s always hard in the beginning but the 100K Plus and bennys are worth it just Gotta tough it out

It just depends on the area you’re working and how badly they need feeder drivers. My area is hiring all outside drivers due to not enough inside interest.
