He's confusing casual feeder drivers with yard shifters. Just because a part-timer is pulling trailers around the yard in a brown tractor, it doesn't mean he's a feeder driver. They usually don't have CDL and those tractors are no longer roadworthy.
No they hired casuals to work the yard only. The bid for us seniority people both part time and full time was taken down. My package managers didn’t want package drivers gone for the season and the our local didn’t want our seniority to be violated so management shut it down.
