Yeah I saw where it says that Washington is JC 28 but what does that even mean and how does that help me?
Article IX, section 1, paragraph friend:
A utility driver may be assigned by seniority to vacation coverage.
These vacation cover utility drivers would be released from their
inside position when assigned to a center for vacation cover and
scheduled on a weekly basis provided work is available, and shall
have rights to return to their previous position when this duty is
ended. A utility driver assigned by seniority to vacation coverage
during May 1st through September 30th would be released from
their inside position when assigned to a center for vacation cover
and scheduled on a monthly basis provided work is available, and
shall have rights to return to their previous position when this duty
is ended

Thank you for taking the time to look that up but I do not see anything in there that makes a claim for seniority trumps route knowledge

Article 1, section 8, paragraph D:
The Employer recognizes that the principles of seniority shall be
given prime consideration for extra work.

Article 1, section 8, paragraph friend:
All employees with seniority standing shall be given an opportu-
nity for preferential job assignments; provided, such employees are
able to do the work. If any dispute arises, as to whether the person
is qualified to do the work or handle equipment, the Company shall
grant the employee a trial period under supervision to determine
their qualification. If judged to be not qualified for the job, the
Company will provide the employee with another opportunity to
meet the qualification.

Okay so I don't want my sup and coworkers to dislike me so would it be best for me to show this info first to my sup in private? Or should I show it first to my union steward and have him make my sup aware of the situation?

Is there any Confidentiality Between an employee and a union steward? Can the union take this up with my sup without involving me in it at all? I just don't want my sup to think that I am trying to cause issues and I don't want my coworker to dislike me, he is a good guy and I don't want him to think that I am trying to take work from him.

Absolutely go to your steward first, he might get this resolved without you even having to your supervisor about it.
