How could the Afghan forces be this inept at warfare?

The country has been at war since the mid-to-late seventies with the exception of ‘96 thru ‘01 (and those years weren’t great).

What a disastrous campaign.
they werent inept. They dont fight each other just us. when its time to fight each other they negotiate a joining of forces.

long as its not a republican or catholic doing the violating liberals dont care.
As I said, people should be careful who they support. Great example would be Biden stopped returning calls from BLM after the election, then finally his administration met with them in June where BLM leaders left feeling disappointed. Will they remember that in 2024? I doubt it too.

As much as I believe the Biden Administration's foreign policy is an incoherent mess in general, this doesn't fall entirely in Action Joe's lap. His bumbling withdrawal is just the icing on the cake.

This is the legacy of the neocons and their attempts at nation building and regime change to create Greater George Bushistan. Pump billions of dollars in aid and military technology to a populace that doesn't want us there and has no faith or vested interest in supporting their new "democratic" government (which was corrupt as hell) and you have all the ingredients for a nation that will collapse the second we leave.

Remember Iraq in 2014 when ISIS overran half the country while the American-supplied Iraqi Army didn't fight back? This part of the world is tribal in nature and has been for millennia. Most of the Afghani soldiers returned home to be with their families or tribe instead of fighting and dying for a corrupt American-funded government that either couldn't or wouldn't supply them with food and payment.

We throw money, Democracy, the New York Yankees and Jesus at these people and expect it to just magically work because the State Dept. said so. This sort of nation building is foreign policy arrogance at its grandest (or worst).

Go read Peter VanBuren's book "We Meant Well." It's about Iraq but you can draw many of the same parallels.

Sorry, but I don’t care anymore.

I agree with much of what you said but Isis came about because Obama and Biden pulled all the troops out of Iraq instead of maintaining a buffer to prevent isis from forming. Just like we should have maintained an Air base in Afghanistan to keep the taliban from overrunning the country and providing a safe haven for isis an other terrorists, which they will.
As this point it’s not nation building, which never was gonna work in that backwards Stone Age to begin with, it’s about protecting our own interests by keeping Russia and China out!

We should bomb the hell outta the Taliban right now while they are exposed. Send as many planes, drones, cruise missiles, rockets, MOABS, etc. The more countries the better. Take turns. All at once. Either would be fine. Even us alone is enough. But no troops should have to go back in and the bombing should be so ruthless that none of those savages would dare attempt to oppress anyone again.

Yes the withdrawal was conditional on Al Qaeda not being allowed to operate. Al Qaeda terrorists have been released from prisons.

Your massa Biden is a feckless c u next Tuesday.

What most fail to understand that this was a religious war.
They tend to go on for 30+ years.
Because it takes that long to kill off a generation or two before the losing side realizes it can not win.
