Teamsters bosses resist calls to reopen UPS contract after 'no' vote

This says it all. Time to think about the long terms. There is no reopening of this contract.

From Kara Deniz, a spokeswoman for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, said the vote turnout shows the union lacks rank-and-file support for a strike on UPS.

“The national agreement was rejected by approximately 24% of the eligible membership. No union can successfully conduct a strike with the support of only 24% of the bargaining unit,” she said in an email Tuesday.

The proper next step would have been renegotiation and a re-vote. But the Union leadership betrayed the membership. Nobody was suggesting an immediate strike. Her point is moot.

This “Well, we couldn’t strike after the first vote because of the participation rate” talk is nothing but a distraction from the betrayal. UPS was ready to keep talking. National Teamster leadership was not.

The talk that the Union couldn’t do anything is a load of :censored2:. Don’t let those little :censored2:ers fool you.

On Facebook, the vote no movement is convinced Chicago is going on strike, Have they not been keeping up with what is going on? I know, separate contract, blah blah blah, Hoffa is still the “Boss”...

You have to admit , unless you have been living under a rock , that UPS FULL timers have it better than 90 % of the blue collar workers in America.

That's because the company we work for is doing better than 90% of America's businesses.

It's also because we provide a service...not a product.

Isn't it now voluntary to pay union dues? Everyone stop paying all at once.

And the Teamsters magazine also bragged ..... the UPS Aircraft Mechanics Secure an Impressive Contract!

NOPE, THEY VOTED THAT POS DOWN AGAIN. 4 YEARS AND RUNNING. STAY STRONG AIRCRAFT MECHANICS!

UNREAL.....THE UPS GROUND TEAMSTERS, FREIGHT TEAMSTERS, TEAMSTER AIRCRAFT MECHANICS ALL ARE IN THE KNOW WHEN IT COMES TO THE TEAMSTERS COLLUDING WITH UPS.

GOTTA CLEAN HOUSE IN 2021. BUT BE PREPARED FOR THE SWIFT AND SEVERE RETALIATION FROM THE HOFFA CRONIES.

Smh. Come on man. Whats your problem. You can’t treat people like this. I’m one on the biggest Pro union guys around, and a fan of yours for many , many years , but I gotta tell ya , your attitude sucks lately, big time.

It's just getting ridiculous.

This whole "we need a new Union or we should stop paying dues" nonsense

is nothing more than a bunch of internet crybabies throwing a hissy fit.

It's embarrassing to watch (you would think) grown adults.... act like children

complaining about not getting another pudding pop for dessert.

What have they ever done for the Union ?

UPSers Demand Issues Get Addressed When Contract Talks Resume

We need to keep shaming these IBT officials for betraying the workers. When has there been a bigger turnout than this contract vote? When has the union used this 2/3 vote crap right away to spit in the face of the members. We all know there is collusion goig on between the union and the company.
Expose the IBT. Tell me who wants to organize with Teamsters after what happened..... nobody.
