The QAnon Community Is in Crisis -- But On Telegram, It's Also Growing

"Extremists are actively recruiting disillusioned or despondent QAnon believers on encrypted messaging apps like Telegram, researchers say"

"Now that the Biden administration is officially underway, the QAnon community is in crisis. Adherents to the conspiracy theory, which postulates the existence of a cabal of media and left-wing political figures engaged in a child trafficking ring, believed that Inauguration Day would serve as the Great Awakening, and that President Trump would swoop in and arrest and execute all of his enemies. Yet after Inauguration Day came and went without incident, many were left confused, disappointed, and disillusioned with the promises of Q.

As a result of the failed promise of an Inauguration Day reckoning, some extremism experts predicted that the community would be in turmoil, or that believers would undergo a crisis of faith and possibly turn away from the movement. On the encrypted messaging app Telegram, however, which is currently serving as a bastion of far-right extremism, the QAnon community is not just thriving, but growing, according to data from the Center for Hate and Extremism."

"Even without Trump in office, adherents clinging to the idea that Trump is still in power behind the scenes — or that Biden is secretly part of the “plan” — could pose a huge threat. “The true believers [could] be most dangerous,” says Grisham.

“With Trump in office, he kept them calm, they thought everything was under control, that they didn’t need to do anything, trust the plan and all that jazz,” says Jadeja. “Now I think they’ll start coming up with their own plans.”

This article implies that these are all Qanon conspiracy extremists. The article literally says "serving as a bastion of far right extremism "

This doesnt make sense though. If Qanon has 90 million people seeking to regroup on telegram. Then how did Trump only get 75 million votes?

Unless there was voter fraud 😏

Then what are you saying?
I'm simply informing others of why news of Telegram's growth is important to you.

This article implies that these are all Qanon conspiracy extremists. The article literally says "serving as a bastion of far right extremism "
Nope. If an article says Facebook and BC are "bastions of stupid internet memes" it's not implying that everyone on Facebook and BC is posting stupid internet memes.

Yeah lol like that isnt a biased source.
It's true and you know it.

I know that 90 million minus 75 million is 15 million.

Oh no! Someone brought awareness to 460k children missing every year.

Sorry to offend you buddy. I'll keep it on the down low 😉
Do you really think 460,000 kids a year go missing? Is that in the U.S. or worldwide? Find it hard to believe almost 5 million kids disappear every ten years. That would literally be happening all around us every day. I can believe thousands a year. And a lot of those are parents in custody battles. But unless there are FBI stats confirming that it sounds way over the top.

That's the right US number, but it's almost entirely runaways/custody stuff. The number who are abducted by strangers is around 200 a year.
