Veteran journalist Roger Mudd tapes a segment for the History Channel at CBS studios in New York in 2001. Mudd, a longtime political correspondent and anchor for NBC and CBS, died Tuesday at 93.

"Considered one of basketball's greatest players, Baylor was an 11-time All-Star and 10-time All-NBA selection during his 14 seasons with the Lakers from 1958 to 1971. He was the 1958-59 Rookie of the Year as well as the All-Star Game MVP that year. He averaged a double-double for his career, posting 27.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game."

One of the greatest! He was a bit before my time and played with or was followed up by other Laker greats such as Wilt Chamberlain and Jerry West.

@tonyexpress , I was only 7 or 8 when he retired , I knew of his greatness from my father and uncles , he played with some great players , but in an era dominated by the Celtics machine !! A tuff time in 60's for any team to get by Boston
