The Shifting Demographics of the Republican Base

Oh to be an elitist.
If only for a moment, but just long enough to see clearly the path of prosperity.
That moment would allow me see that if we would just embrace socialism, it would pave the way for an America like have never seen.
Ok, to start, I'm unsure where you're getting that being a democrat or someone who leans left, means that you're in favor of up ending our capitalist society and for the institution of socialism. That's a big leap, chief.

That aside, we in America have many socialist programs already in existence, and they're among the most beloved by everyday Americans because of the security/safety net these programs provide them. They don't need to rely on them, but they're there to supplement people or provide a bare minimum standard if you do find you need to rely on them.

Conservatives have got to try to remember that social programs aren't for the people who are doing well in life, they are for the less fortunate among us, and those who for whatever reason can't provide for themselves, and stop being selfish about your tax money. It's all I :censored2:ing hear about - They don't pay their fair share! They're lazy! Why should I bust my ass? Here's a clue, they will figure out a way to continue spending tax money hand over fist on wasteful military nonsense, whether we fund these social welfare programs or not, so your taxes are never dropping in any meaningful sense, regardless.

Maybe try to be happy that you have a good career, a bit of financial freedom, and not worry about whether somebody else is receiving something for nothing. They aren't getting wealthy off of gov't subsidy, they're just surviving. Would we still be able to call ourselves the greatest country in the world, with a straight face, if we tossed aside our weakest and poorest citizens, so that those of us already making a good living could save a few bucks in taxes per year? I don't think so.

Maybe you do. Your party does support Donald Trump. So anything is possible, when it comes to deluding yourselves.

I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the right, but I usually refrain from calling them 'slime' despite our differences in opinion on the direction this country should take, the rate of and how we spend tax monies, and how we should care for all of our citizens regardless of their societal class.

Your use of this word to describe Democrats, along with your weirdly worded attempt at being funny or sarcastic in the above post, leads me to believe that Chuck's segment on "Meet the Press" hit a little too close to home and touched a nerve with you.

I'd only say this to you - 'if the shoe fits'...your party courts the lowest common denominator and we all know this. The dumb, and your coveted single issue voters are the only two groups keeping your party relevant in these times of rapid change.

You should embrace your backwards ideas and outdated glorification of the GOP, as it's all you'll have left soon. The republican party is dying, and this current moment in time is merely the death rattle, before they take their last few breaths and fade away into earned irrelevance. Accept this, and enjoy the increases in the quality of life that will come your way in the future, when you guys stop 'clinging to your guns and religion' as if those things still belong in politics in this day and age - the youth of this country dislike guns and religion like they've been assaulted by them (they have).

Without a massive influx of new blood, your party is destined to become the dinosaurs that your already prehistoric ideas put you on the path toward a long time ago. Tradition is great and all, but change is constant, and embracing it will always be better than fighting it. Democrats embrace the changes necessary to move this country forward, the GOP does not, and this will be their ultimate downfall.

That's what I enjoy about your posts , I would have to ride down to the local nut House to read such nonsense. With you I just go to the internet.

My favorite thing about yours, are all of the spelling errors, and the horrible sentence structure.

Tells me right from the jump, that I'm reading the posts of a man of limited intelligence, and to interpret them accordingly. It's very useful for reminding me not to take your opinions too seriously.

THAT'S NOT WHAT HE SAID OR IMPLIED.

I'll never be mistaken for a spell checker
Adults who've been writing and using the same few hundred words for their entire lifetime shouldn't need to check the spellings of those words.

That would be sad.

They should just know them :censored2:s by now, like the rest of us who don't have sub-90 IQ's. I can tolerate poor spelling by primary school students, and the retarded, but I hold able-minded adults to a harsher standard. Maybe that makes me old school. So be it.

I won't apologize for liking my words spelled correctly. I will always judge people with poor spelling as less than. Especially now that auto-correct /AI finishes half of the words you type with their correct spelling, leaving no excuse for it.

You actually have to go out of your way to look as stupid as @newfie does with modern devices. Think about that for a minute. That's who you're dealing with.

I'm unsure why he engages with most of the left leaning peeps on this board, as he's incredibly ill equipped to win a war of words with these folks, and often finds himself punchy from being slapped silly by them, so to speak.

I know if I'm the dumbest guy in the room, I don't try to draw a ton of the conversation my way, and I surely don't poke a sleeping bear, trying to punch over my weight class in a debate with those who would wipe the floor with me.

If that's his reality on a website for truckers, how does he fare in any group where educated people's gather for good conversation? It must be a bloodbath of laughter and disbelief when he comes up in the spot with his foolhardy nonsense.

In retrospect, I guess I see that it's much safer for him to engage in the relative anonymity of the web. Even if he does look like he is borderline retarded, he can't see the disapproving stares of disbelief and wonderment of others from the comfort of his home, behind a computer screen.

um check again, you do
I purposely left that low hanging fruit for you - I wanted to see if you would use it to respond as a 3rd grader would, and you didn't disappoint. You are easier to read than Ikea instructions, dawg.

No! You are! Not me.

These are your responses every single time. No abstract thought process to speak of. Predictable in their simplicity.

Yes, this is who you are, friend. That guy. You are that guy we all know who is clueless about how clueless he is. The guy too dumb to realize he's dumb - the worst kind.

Carry on in bliss.
