THE TRUMP 2024 THREAD

Fox leans conservative but the Murdocks don't like Trump.

Ignoring that article was from the Hill which is definitely liberal and buried in the middle of the story said "Shaw conducts Fox’s surveys with Democratic pollster Chris Anderson."

The Fox News poll can't be trusted because Shaw, a Republican, conducted it with a Democrat, eh?

The right can call any negative polling fake news and stay the course but the blue haired folks are gonna be back in power sooner rather than later if they do.

My point is to take most polls with a grain of salt. Especially if they don't explain their methodology. I saw one recent poll that was slightly negative for Trump but was 87% Democrats polled.

you dont want a crazy in charge of the most powerful war machine on earth

"Crazy" probably tends to prevent more wars than it starts. You likely should've been more concerned about Biden having been in charge of the most powerful war machine on Earth if the issue isn't just political for you.

Looks like a lot of infighting in the DNC. Progressives may go their own way. If so I like Republican chances. Also blue states are losing House seats with reapportioning. Republicans will increase their margin by 2030.

Numbers from a Democratic pollster. Not a possibility of bias there.
I don’t like the way this situation has been handled.

I know a lot of midwesterners here who think it was foolish to go to war with China at the same time we piss off the rest of the world.

I might be wrong. I hope I am. I’m not an economist. But I don’t think the poll is probably that far off.

I'm not happy with a lot of things Trump has done. He should have moved a lot slower on tariffs but overall I agree with most of what he has tried to do.

Yep
America first but not America alone.
China was a fight we should have done 10 or more years ago.

Trumps chasing a lot of things in a short time period . Tariff issue is a complicated one and major change in policy. Lot of fear mongering involved. stock market drop scared a lot of people which is understandable. I saw one analyst point out that the tariffs could cost the economy 2 trillion over ten years where the stock market lost 8 trillion at one point. the comparison shows a significant over reaction . i would think those poll numbers would slowly creep back up as the stock market slowly rebounds and people realize gas and food are cheaper . Most countries will start signing onto the new tariff plan as we go along. china will grind out . markets adjust and businesses will find a way to make a buck no matter what the new rules are. Apple announced building new factories in India along with the US. the realignment is already taking place which is good long term to reduce our dependence on our biggest adversary. Trumps plan will fix a lot of things that need to be addressed but it takes us out of our comfort zone and that always makes people uneasy.

Fox News surveys are biased by Democrats?
not that it matters most polls get trump wrong

The Fox News Poll is administered by Beacon Research, a Democratic polling firm, and Shaw & Company Research, a Republican polling firm, working jointly to ensure balanced and methodologically sound results. The polling unit is overseen by Dana Blanton at Fox News

I believe Apple has had India in the scope for a while. Good business.

If people who could go either way on Trump think he's unnecessarily tanking the economy and affecting their wallets, the things they do agree with him on all become lower priority.

you cant move slower politicians love to talk an issue to death without a resolution.

trump warned em , kicked them in the ass when they dicked around and then gave them a little breathing room when they saw he was serious.

I still dont know if i would have done this if i was him, in my many years I've probably argued different aspects of both sides of the tariff issue.

but now that the cards have been laid I'm excited that someone is actually taking action and trying something new instead of making a bunch of BS speeches pretending to be concerned about this issue.

There was never any doubt that there would be short term pain if he raised tariffs but the potential is for long term gains. For now it is still wait and see time. Too many people are getting overly emotional on the issue.
