at the very least this is a flaw with the 25th amendment and another option needs to come available. maybe a law that the opposing party can request a mental competency test under certain conditions by an independent doctor or team of doctors.

Seems like a reasonable response although weaponizing the 25th amendment can definitely be a problem. I have to say, I think the American public wasn’t fooled by Joe Biden’s condition whether his doctor was or not..

In theory that would make sense, but in practice it gets politicized and bastardized. At the end of the day I think the people are rarely fooled for long.

And even if the 25th amendment had been used, you would’ve had Kamala Harris. How would that have been better in your estimation?

I’m sure there’s many on the left. Who would like to use it against Trump right or wrong.
