1937 Amelia Earhart Goes Missing​

1937 : Amelia Earhart and her navigator Frederick Noonan go missing during their attempt to fly around the world between New Guinea, and Howland Island, an island in the center of the Pacific Ocean. No trace of the aircraft including Earhart or Noonan was ever found

1.) Independence Was Not Declared on July Fourth:

July 4, 1776 is significant because that is the day Congress officially adopted the Declaration of Independence document. However, the second Continental Congress actually voted for independence on July 2. In a letter to his wife, Abigail, John Adams predicted that future generations would celebrate July 2 as Independence Day, saying, "The second day of July, 1776, will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival.

1978 U.S.A. Public Service Strikes​

1978 : Public Servants today began a strike in 3 major US Cities leaving cities with no police on the streets, no fire protection and most other public service employees on strike . The cities were Cleveland, Louisville and Philadelphia. Each city had National Guardsman standing by.

1999 : John friend. Kennedy, Jr. his wife, Carolyn Bessette Kennedy; and her sister, Lauren Bessette, die when the single-engine plane that Kennedy was piloting crashes into the Atlantic Ocean near Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts.
