How many confirmed COVID-19 cases/deaths were there in the US by the end of February and do you think those numbers were high enough at the time that the average American would have agreed that a shut down of our economy was warranted?

Imagine what would have happened if our elected officials had inflicted the economic suffering we’re seeing now upon their constituents in February when the reason for doing so was not actually a visible thing yet. What do you think Democratic leaders would have said then?
