Time To End The Shutdown?

You understand it could have been dismissed, the Senate could have even chosen not to hear it.
The House offered their prosecution, they called every witness they chose to present and turned their completed case over to the Senate.

It is no ones problem except the House managers that they did not complete their job before handing it over to the Senate. They had the opportunity to have every "witness" heard they felt needed to be heard.

The Senate's job is not to to open discovery again and complete an (as the House manager's actions proved) investigation.

@Benben, this is for your edification as well.
I thought you were a little smarter than that.

Before it ever got to the Senate it was very clear that the Dems had nothing concrete. All conjecture. Same people who refused to acknowledge what Biden did in Ukraine. You got nothing, deal with it.

You mean like the EU ambassador who said Trump told him he didn't want anything from Ukraine? Democrat witness. By the way if you were being impeached would you supply witnesses whose testimony might be twisted? Trump was under no requirement to supply witnesses. Up to those doing the impeaching. If they didn't have witnesses who could corroborate they shouldn't have gone forward with the impeachment. And don't expect Republicans to support your efforts after democrats spent two years trying to oust Trump on Russian collusion charges that were unfounded, then accused Trump of trying to use taxpayer money to get political favors when that was exactly what Joe Biden did. Which you turn a blind eye to.

Unfounded????

You didn't read the Mueller report did you, just relied on the Barr cliff notes?

I like how you twist "barring" testimony into "supplying witnesses!"

Honestly, we'll see what SCOTUS has to say!

Mueller found no evidence of Russian collusion.

Mueller was not investigating "collusion." Collusion is a conspiracy theory from the right!

The correct legal term you're looking for is, "conspiracy." Conspiracy infers an intent and that requires interviews to determine intentions of the actions taken. Who was "permitted" (aka not "barred") from being interviewed by the Special Counsel?

Mueller's investigation was about Trump colluding with Russians AND the second part was on whether Trump attempted to obstruct Mueller's investigation. On the first part Trump and administration was found to not have colluded. And Trump turned over at least a million documents and even the White House counsel was extensively interviewed. Your boy Adam Schiff publicly stated he had seen documents that proved Trump colluded with Russians but after the Mueller report came out he couldn't produce anything that proved that. All of this has been a waste of time and money and slowed governance way down.

We just covered "collusion."

As far as "obstruction" is concerned again we'll have to see what SCOTUS says this year!

Barr's cliff notes say one thing! The actual report says another!

Mueller specifically said if he could have exonerated the president he would have said so!

We'll see what the courts have to say!

Btw, all this did not slow down Washington. The Senate and the Federalist Society have installed judges at a records pace!!!

His report said if he could exonerate the president of obstruction he would have said so. And Mueller was the figurehead for a bunch of Democrat operatives. But try as they might they couldn't find anything.
