DIDO compared something a Muslim did to what Mohammed did a lot longer than 182 years ago...that didn't seem to bother you.

You think there are no Mormons practicing polygamy and taking child brides in 2025?

At least Muslims don't wake me up knocking on my door wanting to convince me to join their cult.

There are very few Mormons practicing polygamy today and they are marginalized to remote communities. Not aware that they are marrying prepubescent girls. But marrying children in the Muslim world is found throughout most of the Middle East and large parts of Asia. That doesn't mean it's the standard practice. Just that such arranged marriages do happen. And it's always arranged between families. There's no little girl out at a mall meeting young men where one asks her out on a series of dates. In those cultures women are seen as property and marriages are arranged for the benefit of the families involved. You shouldn't get the idea that because there are Muslim women in the U.S. with a certain degree of autonomy that it's like that throughout the Muslim world for them. And young Muslim women and teenage girls have been murdered by their parents in the U.S. for becoming too Westernized. It's a matter of honor for their parents. Doesn't mean that's the likely outcome for many Muslim women in the U.S. but it certainly is a possibility for some. I delivered to a Muslim doctor's home in Texas and there was an iron cage like area surrounding the front door. Went there several times and had a couple of young women in full Muslim garb come out and sign for the letters through a slot in the cage. They looked scared to death of me. No one is going to tell me those young women were free to travel about within the community and likely were afraid to.
