UPS Driver caught trying to steal packages near Tomball, according to Constable - Chron

A Houston-area UPS driver is behind bars Thursday after being caught stealing packages from customers, police said.

Gilbert Good, 19, was caught by a UPS security manager placing packages in his car that were meant to be delivered on his route Dec. 12, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office. The incident took place in the 24700 block of Tomball Parkway.

The manager also overheard Good talking on the phone about robbing his delivery customers before Christmas, authorities said.

I really wish the media were educated about the difference between PVD, seasonal and permanent drivers. The status quo of calling all of them “UPS Driver” enables idiots off the street to tarnish the reputation of career UPSers.

This is the same thing I thought. How could he be driving in any capacity at 19?

Yeah, but "UPS driver" is a whole different picture for the public than "UPS seasonal employee driver" etc.

PVD's have the same requirements as a package car driver EXCEPT no DOT MEC is required as they are not driving a CMV.
