UPS escorted me off the property.

I was sick last week and felt :censored2:ty the last few days (no fever, no acute respiratory, no covid). I don't wanna get coronavirus because a cold or influenza already had me sick. I wore a mask and like 2 minutes after I stepped in the building, my steward, a sup, and security walked me to the road and firmly "suggested" I take the day.

Anyway it was a free R/O and they told me to call when I feel better and until then, call every day to confirm the R/O. They'll continue to punch me for entitlements to maintain insurance. That $500 bottle of scotch at Christmas was worth every cent.

So for all my fellow quitters, show up to work with a mask. Free vacation. Not sure when I'm gonna go back yet. We will see.

In the meantime I have masks for sale $250/ea and that's with the UPS discount. (I'm kidding please don't arrest me for price gouging like all the idiots on ebay are).

Edit: Please stay home if you develop a flash fever or have problems breathing while talking or sleeping. Prevent pneumonia by clearing your lungs regularly. Get tested if you develop a dry cough and any fever.

Where I am we need one punch a week to maintain benefits. With no sick days let that’s what I’m concerned about if anything happens. The company or the union is going to be running to bend people over with no lube when it comes to this.

I'm so lucky I just ran out of everything but our state just loaded our sick time and I had a hiring anniversary. We need the punch, but they CAN use as little as 15m, but DOING that is different. But hey who knows.

I pulled all my emergency cards for my business and I'll be operating smoothly through 2020, and I even have a whole backup location of inventory and materials and a quarantined person. This is not gonna affect me as badly as it will others but I really wanted the 0.5 added to the $1m/yr. Maybe 2021, I guess.

I'm sorry you failed to make any friends during your tenure at UPS. Maybe if you had, management might be willing to help you during a time of emergency.
