United Parcel Service Inc. is seeing measurable benefits from last year’s completion of its $1 billion expansion at Louisville International Airport.
In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the Atlanta-based package-sorting giant noted that first-quarter profit was boosted by the improvements at its Worldport hub in Louisville, its largest sorting facility.
According to the filing, “higher operating profit during the quarter was driven by increased network efficiencies and cost containment initiatives,” including the Worldport improvements.
