Warning letter for not showing up for preload even without 10 hour reset

I'm a part time cover driver in the southeast part of the US. I was given a warning letter for not showing up to preload on Saturday even though I wouldn't have had ten hours off from driving the truck the day before. Am I supposed to adjust my starting time myself and just come in later to preload to make up for it?

No, the 10 hour rest rule is for driving. If you weren't going to be driving on Saturday you didn't need to fulfill the 10 hours rest rule.

He’s probably leaving out he no call no showed instead of communicating it to his manager that he didn’t have his rest.
