What IBT corruption?

You want us to post pics and arrest records for an officer of a central region local that exposed themself to customers while being arrested for disorderly conduct in a bar and then turned around (on another day) and tried to outrun two state patrol officers when they were being given a walk the line sobriety test for drunk driving during an early evening stop?

Retired as an officer of the local.

Not a ups ba or former upser (never was) and not tdu.

There are winners everywhere.

But figuring the odds that there's a quarter of a million upsers vs the total talley of ibt officers there's bound to be more of a chance for failure in the hourly ranks.
The damage is normally singular...loss of job...end of story.

There's thousands of Monica and Bill events worldwide in corp offices but when the president gets busted the effects are broad spectrum and it demeans the whole associated leadership's credibility.

And being close to 400 Teamster Locals each with 7 officers per local, the number of our bad actors is pretty small.
But every one makes the headlines, while corporate America keeps their dirty laundry well hidden.

I was responding to the analogy that some upsers were child porn lovers and some TDU VP chose a ("known?") child porn addict as a BA.

There's abundant stones to throw in every direction and I'm not the only one that has seen what management has done and yet still has a job. They are moved around instead of being fired.

It's a race to the bottom. The norm is now what used to be abominable.

The dif for me is that I pay monthly for our "representation".
I expect more help and justice out of them than I would ever fathom would come from management who has wielded the Art 17i sword like they were righteous judges.
What a joke.

Yep, and I'd wager most members pay equal or more in insurance costs for themselves and their families than they do in dues.
Haven't heard anyone wishing their insurance agent rots in prison before hell.

He was not hired as a "known" purveyor of child pron.

No one had any clue, as he had 5 children. (which makes it more disgusting)

The way the Local and the company found out, was when he didn't show up

at some Local hearings and couldn't be contacted.

17-i made gains in 2013, and has been improved even further now.

The problem with 17-i was the company abused the original intent, for years.

It didn't help matters when discharged members accepted their job back

in exchange for a time served suspension.... adding wind to the company sails.

I understand the improvements but the (years) of damage has been done.

The pt timers had less of a stake in taking time served. The full timers are another issue. Lack of faith in the system and overspending at home tips the scale too often.

Either way, when the employee finally gets their job back the result is often a more militant attitude. Some actually become good stewards and so the coworkers gain from the employee's loss....for years to come.

I'm sure I don't have to remind anyone, who was the IBT General President

at the time. @PT Car Washer probably remembers all the changes to Art 40

at the same time.

Lets go with that. ;)

Few people come to this job with a "unionism" mentality.
Few people leave the job without having cultivated one just to survive.
