hi I'm a part time and just received my option week. Is this another vacation?
It is a vacation week that you have the option of scheduling as individual days off.
Generally option week is called option days and are used when things come up throughout the year. Our little hub likes a weeks notice but I've seen option days get approved with only 24/48 hour notice.
OR working and getting paid for vacation and working.
Or putting it all in the 401k and working.
We can no longer do that here. We can split 2 regular weeks into single days but not the option week. The option week is payed at 50 hours and regular vacations are 45. Maybe that was too confusing.
Not everywhere. We are not given that option.
In my building PT do not have the option of splitting up their vacation week into optional vacation days.
That makes perfect sense.
We don't have an option week,we get 5 personal days.
We can work just about any vacation we want to work. Of course it is at the companies discretion if they are short staffed that week. They are always short staffed.
They usually found us in the summer time, to work vacations. Screw that.
Not all of us are filthy rich FT. Seen more then one FT work vacation to get caught up on bills.
We are staffed very well in my building, so we are not allowed to work through vacations. It was previously a common practice for some drivers to work through vacations, but no longer.
I'm far from filthy rich. I just value my time off. Trust me an extra weeks pay would sure be nice,I just can't stand this place anymore. Just work what I have to.
In the southern, you can take your option week 3 ways:
As 1 extra week off paid
As 7 individual days paid
Paid out in extra check.
You mean 5 days right?
Oddly no, it's 7. It's 58 hours, whether you take it as a week off or 7 individual days.
Couldn't have said it better!
I got into a little pinch with money a few years back...very unseen large expenses ....they would not allow me to do that
Separate names with a comma.
