What to do with possible 2012 rivals?

And the Secretary of State, Mrs Clinton, can't run for President. She can't run against her boss. Can you image her asking for time off?

I am surprised the King didn't name Mitt to his new cabinet as Car Czar. Bobby should be named head of FEMA since Nawlin's still needs help. Maybe name Jeb as liason to Mexico or Cuba?

How could he contain Huckabee? He should pull Oprah back inline by naming her to the high court.

The best hope my troubled and lost Republican friends can mustard up in 2012 is probably my Gov and soon to be Senator (R) Charlie Cris. He's young, he's centrist and has a hot wife......The rest of the clan....I mean come on; ....Mitt "the flip-flopping Mormon" Romney......Sarah "every turkey's best friend" Palan....Bobby "New all leen" Jendel.....Mike "The Preacher" Huckabee....John "That Guy" McCain....Micheal "In the House" "give a brother some love" Steele....these folks don't stand a chance, except maybe on a reality show....JMHO :devil3:

I don't know that he's all that worried about Bobby, Jeb or The Huckabee. Bobby could be a threat down the road, but Jeb is stuck with a pretty unpopular last name, it might be a while before people are ready for another Bush. I like Huckabee, I actually think he's a decent human being which is rare in politics, but he comes across as too much of a hick sometimes. The base loves him, but he won't get much more than that without selling out on who he is and I don't see that happening. JMO.
Mitt will be a threat because he badly wants it, he'll do/say anything to win, and he has tons of money. If Obama really wanted to neutralize him he should have made him health care czar, based on the fact that Mitt pioneered mandatory, state run health care in MA while he was governor. Assuming that Obama really does want to move the country towards a single payer system under which everyone is covered, what better way to do it than behind a succesful republican business man with a track record?

Typical O.
In office 100 plus days and already campaigning for the next election; just like his days in the US Senate.
I'm looking for someone on his team to repeal the 22nd Amemdment.

Try this experiment ...

Ask someone to name the three branches of government.
Ask what we call the document that provides the First through Tenth Amendments.
Ask someone what gives women the right to vote.
Ask someone if the President and the VP died at the same time...who would be sworn in as President.
Then ask, why can't a President have a third term in office...
You won't be surprised by the answers.

A REPUBLICAN DID THAT? A REPUBLICAN RESORTED TO SOCIALIST PROGRAMS?

I look for Obama and the democrats to use things like this as the healthcare debate amps up in the coming months ahead. Obama's plan sounds a bit similar to Romney's (as well as McCain's) that he (Mitt) signed into law in 2006'. If repubs. start balking, Obama can use the bully pulpit to point out that Romney who could be a darling for 2012' did in effect the same thing as Governor. If Obama were really bold, he could say, "in the spirit of bi partisanship, I'm following a republican healthcare model" and then watch the repubs. try and figure out how to use the "socialist" paintbrush without "redwashing" themselves!

:happy-very:

We long crossed that "socialist" bridge a long, long time ago so we will get some kind of healthcare plan that will claim to be the "save all that ends all" I'm sure! I was shocked it wasn't done before to save Detroit as shifting healthcare costs of employees/retirees would have saved a lot for the bottomline but I guess the gov't was already so debt extended it had no flexibility other than to let GM and Chrysler whither and die on the vine.

2012' will hinge on the 2010' midterms. If repubs. smell blood in the water, it might get interesting, if not look for the elephants to run another Bob Dole or John McCain also known as the infamous "NASCAR Field Filler!"

Admittingly I know little about Charlie Cris other than his prospects to be a Senator seem to be good. If he is anything like McCain though he is better off staying in the Senate. The republicans already tried someone left of center who agreed with the democrats as much as the republicans. Going democrat lite is not going to win the GOP much support in the future, and has already proved to a losing strategy for elections.
