Where do you see FedEx in 5 years? (ISP specifically, but not limited)

I had a driver who had a minor backing incident in a parking lot. Lightly struck the side of a car passing behind. Put about a 3 inch scratch on our cargo van's bumper. The claimants car had a bunch of pre-existing dents and damage all along the side of their car that was struck. FedEx's insurance company decided that was all relevant damage to the accident and fixed it for about 5k. Charged me the 2k. I fought it hard and all FedEx management and safety could say was "Yeah we agree with you, but it looks like they took advantage of the system"
Yep. That’s Fedex for you

I did also hear though that they are ponying up quite a bit of money for safety technology.

Probably just another friend’n bucket.

Something in the air. Lots of VP's retiring, lots of mangers changing their ways. Something coming at least on the express side of things. Maybe they'll buy us out lol lol. Noway will they do that!

They have plenty of $ to do it. It's only a matter of time.

Doesn't the fiscal year end May 30th? If so they're simply doing some end of the year housekeeping chores......voluntary retirements, early retirement buyouts, transfers etc. That kind of thing.

Why not get your own DOT # for intrastate transport, within 100 mile radius. This would resolve these issues by giving the contractor responsibility and control of their own insurance. The cost is comparable as long as you meet those requirements. And under the circumstances you all do with the exception of line haul.
X knows this, but it would eliminate their ability to control your fleet. And they would have to rely on you keeping your coverage, or informing them of any changes.
You ride under their DOT, your subject to their control. They use the FMCSA as a tool to supervise, control, and exploit you.
Wait a minute the operating agreement probably forbids this, or does it. Read the fine print.

Management has been changing lately. Not really sure what to make of it.
