UPS planning to hire 450 new employees in the Dallas-Fort Worth area – MSN

UPS announced Wednesday plans to hire around 450 new employees in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to support increases in demand.

The shipping company plans to hire employees for sorting hubs in Fort Worth, Arlington, DFW International Airport and Mesquite for permanent, part-time package handling positions, according to a news release.

These part-time employees may also have the opportunity to advance into full-time roles, with more than 120,000 part-time employees having transitioned into full-time driving or management positions, according to the release.

UPS announced a new hiring effort Wednesday looking to fill roughly 1,000 part- and full-time positions across the Chicago area.

The package delivery company is seeking tractor-trailer drivers and part-time workers who can make up to $24 hourly with annual raises.

Over 500 full-time tractor-trailer team driver positions are available.

A teenager was left lying in a Manhattan street after being beaten up over his sneakers, and a UPS driver didn’t think twice before jumping in when he saw that teen was in trouble.

The violent attack in Chelsea unfolded on May 14. Video shows two people in black chasing a teenager down to the ground, punching and kicking him before taking off with his Nike Air Force 1s.

But the first person on the scene was not your ordinary responder. This time, a UPS driver delivered a helping hand for the victim and words for the suspects.

“I yelled back, ‘Really? That’s all you want? You wanted his sneakers?’” Christopher McCall told CBS2’s Cory James.

Delivery worker calls out customer over allegedly ‘unreasonable’ order request – In The Know

A UPS driver is going viral after sharing what he claims was his “most unreasonable” encounter with a customer.

The story comes from a TikTok user named @your_uncle_dave, who explained the alleged counter in response to a recent Stitch video trend.

That trend, started by user @steveioe, asked TikTokers to share an “unreasonable request” they’d received while trying to help someone at their job. As it turns out, @your_uncle_dave had just the story.

“Another day in the life of a UPS guy” he captioned his video.

UPS hiring at Memphis, Nashville facilities – WBBJ

UPS announced plans Tuesday to hire more than 50 employees in the Memphis area and more than 100 in the Nashville area, according to a news release.

Positions include permanent and part-time package handling positions.

The release says part-time positions are available on multiple shifts.

Positions offer healthcare, pension and tuition benefits, as well as discounted stock purchase opportunities, the release says.

Pay can be up to $17 an hour depending on the shift, location and position, the release says.
