I could see this if we were talking about a MLS or NCAA tournament championship but this is the Olympics. Time and place.
I respectfully disagree. Soccer is soccer. This sport routinely draws 100,000 spectators and the brawls that have ensued in the stands have left corpses. A little brash ego display is nothing.

Oh, stop. This is American swagger and nothing more. And my kids have been is soccer for a few years and there is nothing humble about soccer teams at all. Even at the age when we don't keep scores, ask any kid walking off the field what the score was and if he loves the game, he'll tell you the score.

Carli Lloyd A proud product of Delran (South New Jersey). They deserve to celebrate . And besides what is with the Canadian player kicking people in the head!!! There was some sportsmanship. Sour Grapes Klien !

Tancredi, who committed seven fouls in the game, including one in the first minute, and was shown a yellow card in the 79th minute, told reporters after the game that she said, “‘I hope you can sleep tonight and put on your American jersey because that’s who you played for today” to the referee after the game. One wonders how she will sleep herself after what appears to be a deliberate attempt to injure another player.

Team USA Basketball Vs. Spain Gold Medal Preview: How To Watch On TV

With the closing ceremonies tonight for the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, Team USA men's basketball roster
is hoping to add one more gold medal to the total medal count for the U.S. when they face Spain in the final game
for all of the glory. It's fitting that these two rivals meet. Both teams are the most talented on paper and yet they're
also showing up in the games with a passion for representing their country.
Today's game comes after the Russia vs. Argentina bronze medal match, so there are two solid games to watch.
Spain has a lot of international basketball experience and comes with a loaded roster -- the most NBA talent this
side of the United States. The team has both Pau and Marc Gasol as well as Jose Calderon and
Juan Carlos Navarro among others.
Here's the info you'll need to catch tonight's game:
TEAM USA VS. SPAIN
TV: NBC
When: 9am CT

USA men survive Spain to win basketball gold medal

The USA
defeated Spain 107-100 in the men's basketball final Sunday, claiming its second consecutive gold medal.
As the gap narrows between the U.S. and the rest of the world, it's not as easy for the Americans to
dominate every game. They just can't step on the floor and win. It requires more than an apathetic
approach. It requires an all-in approach, and the U.S. delivered.

Gabby Douglas Owes Uncle Sam for Gold Win

Sixteen-year-old Gabrielle Douglas cemented her spot in history last week, as the first African American
to win the all-around women’s gold medal in Olympic gymnastics. But in addition to her newfound fame, Douglas
is also taking home a hefty tax burden from her wins in London, as are other winning Olympians.

For every gold medal won, Americans for Tax Reform calculated Olympians would pay close to $9,000 in federal
income tax. ATR reports silver medalists pay more than $5,300 per medal won.
