The news has been harsh; men playing inapporiate games with children, finding a shirt labeled with "Made in America" is a full day shopping trip for an old war vet carrying only cash...
I remember this thread; perhaps my memory attached to this powerful thread because I had a plan, a mission...
I have a pocket full of coins.
I am armed with a thermos full of hot coffee & supplies.
I have a beautiful bouquet of Poppies and a warm heart.
My Poppy hunt was successful.
I warmed many hands with a cup of joe and hearts with Sacajawea.
I listened and learned; I thanked and hugged; I kissed and shook hands and I walked bursting full of love and pride.
It is because of these men and woman - I am an American.
It was a productive day but I can't tell you how many Poppies Per Hour.....
I did. Adams Center, all over Watertown, Brownville. Finally, in Adams I found one guy at Kinneys. I was so happy when i saw him. Yay, I got my poppy. I never thought of getting a bouquet. Thank you for the idea. Next year, I will have a mission!!
