Cut and Run Suckers

Didn't Bush senior knock up a waitress or something, and have to pay for a little clandestine operation? Your allegiance to a party that has flushed people like you down the toilet is too comical.
No he didn't. And your allegiance to someone like Hillary makes me wonder how painful your head up your rectum must be.

Here's a news flash, Bush wasn't that conservative. We were saying his administration was spending like drunken sailors. Then Obama came along and spent more than all previous Presidents combined. So tell me, should we continue to spend like this or should it be reigned in?

What's your excuse for run away spending during the Reagan administration?

Absolutely nothing, nowhere near what Obama has spent. Reagan did break the backbone of the Soviet Union with his military spending. They tried to keep up, couldn't.

Yes he did; and to be honest with you, my critical thinking skills are far too evolved to subscribe to your petty left v right debate. Any time you blindly follow one particular ideology you inevitably miss "the greys" and mistake everything for black-and-white. You are a classic example of this - there is absolutely NOTHING admirable about blind allegiance.

Not blind allegiance, just can't find a reason to support what Democrats are doing these days. Y'all are Socialists, and it doesn't work in the long run. And you always resort to the personal attacks, often making it up as you go. Nowhere have I said Republicans walk on water, that's you and others injecting your viewpoint, making assumptions. I for one support Social Security. Plenty of Republican businessmen would like to see it go away. I do believe it's no longer business as usual under Trump, that he will run the gov't more like a business. That would be anathema to people in both parties who are used to spending large sums of money with quite a bit unaccounted for. We'll see how it goes.

Van, you're going about this all wrong if you want others to subscribe to your political "ideals." If I were you, what I would do is pretend your a member of the left. Do everything else the same; you know, let complete strangers know about all the :censored2:ed up details of your life - kind of like the Maury show. Young people will want nothing do with that outcome and will flock to the right to avoid your fate. Trust me, it's a full proof plan. And with that, it's time to set ignore.

Obama had to save the economy, which he did. Reagan didn't break the Soviet Union. It broke under it's own weight of incompetence, corruption, and the myth of communism itself.

Reagan hastened the process of Soviet dissolution. Obama didn't save anything. We'd have recovered sooner if he had let the natural process play out. Economic stimulus only prolongs the agony. Ask the Japanese. And his stimulus targeted groups that supported him. Ask Texas how much Obama did for them. Good riddance.

Oh dear, I thought I was done slaying the layers of delusion:

• Russia's economy began to stall in the 60's, not 1980.

• Obama at least saved GM (arguably more of the industry).

• Have you heard of quantitative easing? The idea that the "market" exists independently of the federal government at this point is as laughable as some dude who has spent a significant portion of his adult life living in a trailer acting as a voice of "authority" on a message board.

• Would the state of Texas survive without government intervention (e.g NASA).

Texas has one of the most diversified economies in the country. It's laughable to think programs like NASA keep it afloat. And yeah, I've heard of quantitative easing. Interesting how the Dollar increased in value AFTER they stopped printing money. It was so successful that a number of major nations were threatening to replace the Dollar as the world's reserve currency since they didn't like seeing their U.S. bonds being paid back in inflated Dollars. As far as my intelligence, I've got a reasonably high I.Q. And am a voracious reader. Didn't your first grade teacher tell you to not judge a book by it's cover? Do you read anything that doesn't have pics of naked women or superheroes?
P.S. Couldn't hit the ignore button, could you? And everyone knows Russia was only a military superpower. Took Reagan standing up to them to make them realize they'd never defeat us.

What is your education level and what is your current net-worth?

Did you become a voracious reader before or after moving into the trailer park?

Does your wife care that you spend so much time posting the sorry details of your life to strangers?

In 8th grade on Stanford achievement test my education level was at college freshman with one semester completed. Was reading 300-400 page books in 2nd grade. And I quit college to join Air Force after my dad's business went under and my stepmom got cancer. Truth is my favorite thing is travel, and was working towards getting a decent pension to do that. Not interested in owning the biggest house in best neighborhood, not interested in keeping up with the Joneses, not interested in trying to be top dog, trotting out credentials to prove my place in the pecking order. But I do love butting heads with guys like you, thinking you are soooo superior, when often you are just talk. Life is short amigo, too short to hate on everyone you feel superior to.

Maybe this should have been posted in the Holiday Unity Thread - that's why I respond to your posts with such acrimony; it's nothing personal.

Why make a career out of being subjected to such conditions? The neo-economy isn't the greatest, and age can be a hindrance to finding new employment; but I have found that the people that complain the most rarely submit applications for other jobs, if ever.
That's a good question. The only speculation I would have is because it is more challenging to find good opportunities in more rural areas.

And what do you have to show for all of your smarts and effort? Being forced to retire in Mexico isn't GOP success, or is it?

Who's being forced? It's amazing to me how little people know about the world beyond what's reported in the media. You truly have no idea what you're missing.
