Fair Days Work For Fair Days Pay payout?

I just basically asked Bug again why his local is paying someone else to do the Recording Secretary's job and why nobody at his local is questioning this waste of members dues money.
My Locals Bylaws state that.... almost verbatim. But, with one caveat.
The Presidents duties.
"He shall have authority to interpret these Bylaws and to decide all questions of law there-under between meetings of the Executive Board."

He answered you.

Sound familiar???

ART.XII Section 6. The General Executive Board is empowered to amend, delete, or add to this Article if at any time it believes such action will be in the interests of the International Union or its subordinate bodies.

You mean there's more pictures of toilets that we haven't seen yet?

And, no more pictures of TDU Sandy.

If you have the ability to destroy your own Local....

Imagine, what she could have done at the IBT level ?

Funny....

How she begged to be hired, by the Local she is employed with now.

What a "stand up" TDU Teamster.

Pfft.

Not to change the subject but I'm not sure where Sandy fits in here (from how many years ago) and I do believe that being a high level leader in the IBT can be taxing as well.
There is a personal integrity tight rope to constantly walk.
Regardless of how it happens, if the ship goes down on your watch you are always held accountable for that.

I'm not a TDU member. I believe being a TDU member is everyone's personal choice, right or wrong, but there would be no traction for TDU to gain if there wasn't disgruntlement in the rank and file.

I would bet they got significant cash flow advances in 2013.

Let me guess. They pretty much shut the Ohio Conference down so you need to make extra money some other way?
The media reported that H off a said that the Ohio Conference wasn't "going anywhere".

Why would you say it's pretty much shut down? What about our dues money?

H wants to keep it running, but with the charges against the 3 people, I doubt it will survive. The Ohio Conference doesn't do anything more than the Joint Councils can do. It was always just a way to get the lower paid local officers a little supplement on their salaries.

The money would be returned to the locals, or to the Joint Council, if there is anything left.

I doubt the Conference is going to survive the Federal scrutiny.

It's funny....

How 2 slate candidates for Teamsters United (from Ohio)

Slate

Always cashed their checks from the Ohio Conference.

And, haven't offered to return the money.

Why is that ?

Are they a part of the same hypocrisy ?

Or, are they trying to BS the members.... just to stay in office ?

About as funny as the IBT not holding the Conference to any fudituary standards typical of a subordinate body.

How could this entity not be subject to periodic audits, like every Local is?

Btw, where can I find the itemized list of what officers got paid what by the Ohio Conference over the years?

In my book, they are just as guilty. They knew, just as Bill L. knew, what the main purpose of the Ohio Conference of Teamsters was for.

But, the IRB didn't so much have a problem with the salaries, they had a problem with how they spent the rest of the money.

Bill L. and the other 2 facing charges were fine drawing the salaries, just like everyone else drawing a salary, as long as all the locals involved continued to support the OCT.

It doesn't make it right though. But the locals supported it.
