Most of the Feeder Drivers with that kind of senority are on bids that make in excess of $100000. per year. Unless you are in NY state your pension is in the $40000. range so it's quite a drop. I my area those bids take a set out and bring a set back and often they are already put together. They come to work, do a pre trip, drive out to their meet point, drop their set and hook up to a new one, and drive back. Pretty easy money when the weather is nice. Every job has it's downsides but as far as work and stress go it's the best job in UPS period. I did Package for 24 years and Feeders for 12 before retiring in September. I am 58. If I was still in package I would have retired as soon as I hit 30. I would have stayed even longer but in this area we have two senoirity lists Company and classification so I would never be able to get one of those big $$ runs. I know it's hard for a Package driver to imagine but some of these guys enjoy their job. $100000.+ and 7 weeks vacation. Air conditioned trucks and the newer truck drive pretty nice. Tough to leave.
