Global warming

"warmest on record" is highly misleading .
When did they start recording this data 1880 ?
136 years is too small of a sample to make predictions on .
i think you can certainly draw some conclusions if you are breaking alot of records in the last 2 decades. 2015 was the warmest year on record as well.

I did sign the petition on Breibart to dump Kelloggs, twice .
Seeing how I never buy their products it was a sacrifice I was willing to do .

Obama Hands Out A $2 Billion Loan To Further His Global Warming Goals

In May, The Department of Energy's (DOE) inspector general issued a report on the Texas Clean Energy Project (TCEP). The IG questioned DOE’s plowing $116 million into the project “without assurances that it would succeed.”

TCEP was estimated to cost $1.9 billion when DOE first loaned it money, but now the project’s costs have doubled to $3.9 billion. TCEP wasn’t even under construction when the IG issued its report.

The Obama administration will give $2 billion in loan guarantees
the DOE announced Wednesday its support for the Lake Charles Methanol plant. When built, it’ll be the first U.S. facility to turn petroleum coke to methanol, as well as the first such project to use carbon capture technology.

It’s also the first so-called “Advanced Fossil Energy Project” DOE has funded with the $30 billion left in its loan portfolio. This is the same loan program projected to lose $2.1 billion after loaning money to several now-bankrupt green energy companies, like Solyndra.

from the very reputable democracy now:

"In climate news, forecasters are predicting parts of the Arctic will see temperatures rise above freezing in the coming days, with temperatures near the North Pole today set to reach as much as 50 degrees Fahrenheit above normal. The freakishly warm temperatures come as Arctic sea ice levels are at a record low. Scientists say the changes would not have been possible without greenhouse gas emissions from human activity."

another story on the site:

"
In China, tens of thousands of residents have fled their homes amid an air quality "red alert," as a thick blanket of toxic smog settled in over nearly a half-billion people. Since Friday, authorities have warned of off-the-charts air pollution levels in at least 23 cities, mostly in northern China. Visibility from the smog was so bad in places that officials closed highways and grounded airplanes. China is the world’s largest producer and consumer of coal, which is largely responsible for the smog."

Science is the work of the devil, so sayeth Republicans. This picture from China is spot-on. It's like this almost every day. This is what happens when you ignore the environment and focus almost entirely on economic profit.

Why has the EPA allowed them to do this ?

China is the dumping ground for our pollution. China has no EPA, and almost no worker protections, and does everything as cheaply as possible using the cheapest, dirtiest fuel on the market...poor quality coal. They burn coal in power plants, heat their homes with it....it's everywhere.

A very high percentage of our consumer goods are manufactured there, because US companies make huge profits off cheap Chinese labor and the above mentioned lack of regulations. It's actually a defacto subsidy to Americans, who buy products much more cheaply because they were not manufactured here.

A lot of China's problems lie with them, but a large percentage come form our (read GOP businesses) off-shoring and out-sourcing EPA and other government regulations, bypassing them by letting China deal with it.

I have spent several months in China during the last 10 years. The problem is only getting worse, as the growing Chinese middle class buys cars that add to the pollution.

Does China have an EPA?

Nothing that resembles an agency that actually does something. Fly out of a Chinese city and look down. Each one is ringed with coal-burning power plants and covered with a blanket of smog. The pollution is so bad that China uses it's own scale for measuring it, which is often faked anyway.

China actually welcomed all of these problems.
The have a massive population that needs jobs and the economic boost that come from them .
An idle population would only grow dislike for the present gov't and lead to a revolution .

i think us consumers only save a little on 3rd world made goods. i think most of the savings and hence profits are being passed on to the corporations.
