Companies that produce 'fracking' wells are thinking real hard right now about whether or not to start new wells...'fracking' is quite expensive, and if the ends don't justify the means, they might well back off.

Fracking is adding 1 million barrels every year to the supply side .

Which is exactly why, in addition to reduced consumption, we're reaching the point where it won't be economical for companies to develop new shale fields.

These companies aren't here to make our gas prices cheaper, and there certainly not here to help us achieve 'energy independence'.

They're in it for the money.

If they won't make any money, they won't develop.

Are you aware that when the US produces oil it goes straight to the worldwide market? Are you aware it has nothing to do with prices? Do you realize the only group that benefits from it are the oil companies that market the oil. If we opened everything area in the nation to drilling if would not directly affect gas prices. The price of gas has little to do with presidential policies or pipelines.
I am well aware of how futures work... My point was that Obama campaigned/complained about high gas prices. Now 7 years later, nothing. He was a critic of bush for high gas prices.

Yes, and....
Do you go to work if you know there is going to be NO PAYCHECK?
Why should oil companies be any different?

Unbelievable…

Via CNS News:

(CNSNews.com) – The Social Security Administration (SSA) improperly paid about $1,111,000 to deceased or likely deceased beneficiaries, according to a SSA Office of Inspector General (OIG) report.
The report titled, “Payments Deposited into Bank Accounts After Beneficiaries are Deceased,” was created to determine the effectiveness of SSA’s “procedures for recovering payments improperly deposited into Title II beneficiaries’ bank accounts after their deaths.”

According to the SSA, Title II benefits are disability benefits, because they fall under Title 2 of the Social Security Act, where disability benefits are addressed.

“SSA did not effectively recover direct deposit payments to bank accounts after beneficiaries’ deaths because the Agency did not always determine when suspended beneficiaries had died,” states the report. “We concluded that 58 of the 59 beneficiaries we reviewed had died or were likely deceased.

A convicted felon and former member of a domestic terrorist group was allowed to use expedited airport security lines last summer, according to the Department of Homeland Security's internal watchdog.

The DHS Inspector General's Office said Thursday a whistle-blower flagged the incident as a "significant aviation security breach," prompting an investigation.

It issued a report saying that the traveler — who had convictions for murder and explosives offenses — had not applied for the Transportation Security Administration's PreCheck program but was selected for expedited security screening through the "risk assessment rules" in the Secure Flight program.

A security officer at the airport recognized the felon and alerted his supervisor, but was told to "take no action" and allow the passenger through the TSA PreCheck lane, the Inspector General's Office's report said.
