After reading this and other threads I have decided that all customer complaints should be handled by retired drivers from now on.

I would love to be on the UPS end of some of these calls about how we were mean to their dog and didn't wait long enough for their pickup that wasn't ready.

How bout a customer who has receiving across the street from the retail area. Only 1-2 days a week is anyone in receiving. The other days you walk across the street wait until they done with all of their customers. Then someone will walk over to receiving to inspect the packages and sign.
I would scan the packages in the car, park in front of the retail area, go inside, and try to get a signature. Once they sign, I would take them across the street to the receiving area and unload them. If they wont sign in a reasonable amount of time (a minute or two) I would sheet them as refused and send them back.
