It's always short term thinking to please Wall Street. A company like Apple, on the other hand, thinks long term, truly innovates, and in the end still makes Wall Street very happy. Don't understand why more companies aren't like this.

And MS never got it. I think they are trying to reverse it a bit with Win 8 but then users will be restricted from what they are use to. Apple makes bank because they sell HW at a profit and they continuously release HW and people buy it over and over. For example MS wouldn't have to have a next generation Xbox 360, if they kept upgrading the 360 itself, keep updates 100% compatible, faster chips, more ram etc... There would be ton of gamers wanting the best each year, still a very controlled HW base (unlike a pc). That is how Apple completely schooled MS when everyone on the planet thought there was no way Apple could ever catch MS. MS sells the console at a razor thin margin (perhaps even at a slight loss at some points) gets a base and makes money on SW sales. Apple makes money on everything and has an army waiting for their next HW release on a few formats, the HW sales is what has catapulted them.
